Solid Souls Unite is a safe place where broken people come together for restoration and strength. Like books on a shelf that have been placed to the side after being read, worn, and torn. Our worth and value becomes dependent on the interactions we have with our "readers". Readers come in all forms such as relationships, job titles, income amounts, drugs, and other unhealthy attachments. We believe that the reader will rescue us from the bookshelf, repair our ripped pages, and mend the bindings of our book. But just like the one before, we soon realize that the reader could only provide tape, a temporary fix. Depression, life without purpose, and lack of self worth begin to filter themselves through the pages of our story leaving us more damaged than we were before. Unbeknownst to ourselves that there this truly a blessing in being put to the side, it's all about perspective.
There are several advantages to being placed on a bookshelf. The first is that you are now out of harms way. There are no readers there to distract you, so you have no choice but to embrace who you are without them. This is the time when you read through the pages of your own story from beginning to end, shinning light on your reality, and while bookmarking the events that have left you broken. Unfortunately it is necessary to deal with the tough stuff. You can't dwell on chapter chapter 2 then flip to chapter 7. Every page and chapter is important needs to be properly assessed for complete closure and knowledge of self.
Another blessing in being put to the side is that you are surrounded by other books. Society places a major emphasis on independence but there is truly strength in numbers. Healing comes from opening up and sharing what you've been through. I'm not telling you to go out and tell everyone your business but please open up to someone. They might be a close friend or family member, possibly a minister, or trained professional. If you feel comfortable enough to open up to me I promise that I will listen and pray with you. We are not meant to go through this alone. Lastly, the best part about being placed to the side away from the readers is that it gives you an opportunity to spend time with the Author and the Creator of your story, Jesus Christ Himself, who will never leave you nor forsake you.

As the Author, God knew you and knit you in your mother's womb. He loved you even before you acknowledged His existence. He saw you through your past and will see you through to your future. As the Author and Finisher of your story, Jesus Christ has the Power to completely make you anew. Every ripped page, broken cover, story that once had no ending can now find completion and wholeness in Him. God desires to restore you from your past, strengthen you in your present, and cultivate the gifts that He's given you for your future. So let's dust off and clean up our stories because God is looking for Solid Souls that will impact the world with greatness. It is time to UNITE.
